As we were walking through the Flats area of Cleveland during the formal portraits time of the day, my assistant Kamron threw out some trivia. “Did you know that today, June 18, is the most popular day of the year for weddings?” There are certain parts of town that are very popular for wedding portraits, and the old ivy covered bridge in the Shooter’s parking lot is one of them. But, we didn’t see any other wedding parties in the area. So, if it indeed was the most popular wedding day, at least luck was on our side.
The weather was gorgeous (also lucky!), and the bridal party was in the mood for some fun. With a large chunk of time between ceremony and reception, we were able to 1) abandon an initial location when we found out it was crawling with thousands of people, 2) stop for a drink and some fun images at Harry Buffalo in Lakewood, where Bryan and Dana first met a few years back. Bars as locations is an idea that I’ve noticed is becoming more popular. I think it’s a great option, if time permits, for more casual images as well as a few posed shots (heh…no pun intended).
Beautiful reception awaited us at Embassy Suites in Independence. Food was delicious, room looked great. And how about that gorgeous cake!? TKO Entertainment did a great job as always with getting everyone out of their seats. What a wonderful wedding day!
