I didn’t even realize that the leaves had started to change. It wasn’t until the last stage of editing- the formal portraits, that I noticed the hints of red and gold threading throughout the trees. The perfect touch of early autumn, on a beautiful Friday afternoon at Brunswick’s Mapleside Farms, for Corey and Dana.
And while that little pop of color is beautiful, I felt that so many of their wedding images really resonated in classic black and white. It’s an artistic decision, sometimes made before the moment of capture, and sometimes after. But the choice to go color or black and white isn’t one made without thought and care. It’s not a press of a button, it’s a process, just like all things in photography.
Dana and Corey are a sweet couple, who adore their family and friends. Their wedding day was perfectly them, and it was a perfectly lovely day.
