It’s somewhat a variation on that popular hit by Donny and Marie- “I’m a little bit country… and I’m a little bit rock and roll…” Now that I’ve put that tune in your head (if it’s still there in a few hours… sorry), what does it have to do with this wedding?
On a beautiful July afternoon, the wedding and reception at BayArts was decidedly rustic casual inspired- flowers in mason jars, lace table runners, one of those “naked” frosted wedding cakes that look so pretty. Guests were playing corn hole in the back yard, laughing over a monstrously sized wooden Jenga game, and roasting marshmallows for s’mores. Just shortly before, we were in the industrial Flats section of downtown, shooting photos at Collision Bend Brewing Co, working to incorporate large chains, wall ropes, and Edison bulbs, into some of the most unique bridal portraits that I’ve created. Definitely a tale of two vibes. But it works, because Dan and Jenn have their own vision, and wanted that to be represented in their wedding photos. That was always the goal, and why we shot their engagement photos at BayArts, and did not use the grounds there for the wedding portraits. I totally love it.
What else did I love? The FOOD!! The fantastic Sweet Melissa’s did the catering, which was outstanding on every level. They will only work on events at BayArts, making this great spot in Bay Village even more appealing for weddings and events.
This wedding day concluded with a sparkler send off- a very down-home sweet way to wish the couple well, with a little edge, because you know… FIRE!!!
